# Ahoton > Ahoton makes business work more autonomous through workflow automation, AI Employees and connected systems. Ahoton takes a workflow-first approach to business automation: understand a real responsibility, give it a clear owner, connect the tools already in use, and keep a person in the loop for judgment and exceptions. An AI Employee is one way that responsibility gets owned, a digital worker built around one real business responsibility, such as order operations, customer communication, follow-up, scheduling, internal coordination or operations reporting. It has business context, defined rules, approved tools, clear boundaries, human handoff and an activity record, connected to the tools a business already uses. An AI Employee is not a generic chatbot, a generic automation workflow or an "automate everything" tool. Automation is the mechanism inside an AI Employee, not the category. Ahoton understands the business first, identifies one painful or valuable responsibility, then decides what the AI Employee should own. Ahoton manages the implementation: understand the workflow, define the responsibility, give the AI Employee context and rules, connect approved tools, set human handoffs, then measure and improve. Ahoton starts with one workflow and expands only after proof. Ahoton Control is being developed as a trust, control and accountability layer for connected AI agents. It is currently early access, not a fully launched self-serve SaaS. Agent builders keep hosting their own agents where they already run, while Control is designed to connect through supported SDKs, APIs, webhooks or gateways. As part of Control, each connected agent is designed to carry a clear identity card: an owner, purpose, role, allowed capabilities, restricted capabilities, status and activity record. Ahoton's current commercial focus is order operations: order processing, inventory and status coordination, follow-up, reporting, exception handling and internal coordination. The current audience is distributors and warehouse teams. This is a starting focus, not a permanent restriction; the same workflow-first approach is meant to extend to other business responsibilities and industries over time. We're building toward a broader operating layer for autonomous business work, but that long-term direction is not the current commercial product. ## Pages - [Home](https://ahoton.com/): AI Employees for real business work, with control built in. - [AI Employees](https://ahoton.com/ai-employees/): What an AI Employee is, what it can own and how Ahoton builds one around a real responsibility. - [How it works](https://ahoton.com/how-it-works/): How one workflow becomes an AI Employee, from understanding the work to measuring the outcome. - [Control](https://ahoton.com/control/): Ahoton Control early access, identity, permissions, approvals, verification and accountability. - [About](https://ahoton.com/about/): Ahoton's company direction and philosophy. - [Resources](https://ahoton.com/resources/): Practical notes on AI Employees, workflows and business operations. - [Contact](https://ahoton.com/contact/): Start with one workflow, or join Control early access. ## Frequently asked - What is an AI Employee?
